 TAFTAN: Iranian authorities have handed over 284 Pakistani nationals to Levies officials at the Taftan border who have been arrested from different cities of Iran and handed over to the FIA for further investigation. 

According to details, Iranian authorities arrested 284 Pakistani migrants from different cities and handed them over to Levies authorities at Pak-Iran Taftan border.

Of the arrested persons, 210 belong to Punjab, 42 to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12 from Azad Kashmir,   5 to Balochistan, and 15 from Sindh.

60 people were deported to Iran due to lack of Pakistani identity documents.

According to Levies sources, the detainees wanted to go to Europe via Iran and have been arrested in Iran. The detainees were screened at the Taftan border by health officials and handed over to the FIA for further investigation.
