Balochistan’s annual budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 reflects a strategic vision focused on promoting development and addressing the needs of the public. With a substantial total of Rs 138.40 billion earmarked for general public services and key sectors such as health, education, and law and order, the budget underscores the provincial government’s commitment to improving service delivery, fostering economic growth, and enhancing the well-being of its citizens.

 

The comprehensive allocations spanning various sectors aim to drive sustainable development, social welfare, and economic stability in Balochistan. The budget outlines significant allocations across diverse sectors to cater to the multifaceted needs of the population. A substantial portion of Rs 93.12 billion has been designated for maintaining law and order, ensuring peace and security in the region. Economic affairs departments are set to receive Rs 79.36 billion, reflecting the government’s emphasis on driving economic growth and stability. Furthermore, investments in housing and community facilities amounting to Rs 49.92 billion underscore the commitment to improving living standards and infrastructure in the province. The budget also allocates funds for loan repayments, pensions, and other obligations, reflecting prudent financial management and commitment to honoring financial commitments. The development budget, sourced from provincial resources, stands at Rs 219 billion, indicating a significant investment in infrastructure development and economic growth initiatives. This budget includes allocations for both foreign and federal development projects, underlining Balochistan’s efforts to collaborate with external partners and leverage resources for sustainable development. The focus on agriculture, livestock, mineral, and mines development projects underscores the province’s commitment to harnessing its natural resources for economic diversification and job creation.
