Balochistan, a region marred by political strife, deserves a nuanced approach to conflict resolution. It is crucial for the power circles to recognize that the issues in Balochistan are deeply rooted in political complexities and should be addressed through diplomatic and political means. The death of Balach Molabakhsh, while not the first of its kind, is particularly egregious due to the circumstances surrounding it. In the turbulent landscape of Balochistan, a chilling incident has once again highlighted the need for immediate attention from the highest echelons of justice. The custodial killing of Balach Molabakhsh, orchestrated by the Counter Terrorism Department in Turbat, demands not only our collective condemnation but also a swift and decisive response from the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. that Balach Baloch was initially taken into custody by the CTD, presented before a court, and allowed interaction with his mother and other relatives. However, the shocking turn of events unfolded when, after a mere two days, his lifeless body was callously dumped. Such extrajudicial killings defy the principles of justice and human rights. The delayed registration of a case against the implicated CTD officials, despite court orders, adds a layer of impunity that threatens to erode the very fabric of our society.

It was told wanton barbarity and brutality displayed in this incident has the potential to sow seeds of anarchy, lawlessness, and chaos. It is imperative for the Chief Justice to step in and ensure that justice is not only served but seen to be served. The judiciary’s silence in the face of such atrocities raises questions about its commitment to upholding the rule of law. The urgency of the situation is further underscored by the revelations contained in a comprehensive 500-page report submitted by Sardar Akhtarjan Mengal in the Islamabad High Court. This report details incidents ranging from Tutak to Balochistan, encompassing the plight of missing persons and the gruesome practice of lifting and dropping dead bodies. The gravity of the situation prompted the Islamabad High Court to summon the Prime Minister, the Federal Interior Minister, and the Federal Defense Minister on November 29.

Sardar Akhtarjan Mengal, a key political figure, emphasized that the report includes not only the incident of Balach Molabakhsh but also sheds light on the broader issues plaguing Balochistan. The missing person mentioned in the report was none other than the brother of Sardar Akhtarjan Mengal, adding a personal dimension to the plea for justice. In the face of these distressing developments, the Balochistan National Party (BNP) has expressed its willingness to engage with every political party and collaborate towards finding a resolution. It is a call for unity in the face of adversity, urging both the judiciary and political parties to play an active role in remedying the dire situation in Balochistan.

Alleged custodial killing of Balach Molabakhsh symbolizes a blatant disregard for the sanctity of human life and the principles of justice, the Chief Justice must heed the calls for intervention. Swift action is not only a moral imperative but also a crucial step towards restoring faith in the judicial system and ensuring that those responsible for such heinous acts are held accountable. Balochistan’s cry for justice cannot be ignored any longer.
