Female higher education in Balochistan, particularly in Nookabad, requires urgent attention due to its significant challenges. With a female literacy rate of only 26%, Balochistan ranks as one of Pakistan’s least literate provinces.

This study aims to investigate the reasons behind the obstacles to female higher education in Nookabad and propose solutions to promote it.

Female higher education in Nookabad faces multifaceted challenges. Early marriages often disrupt educational pursuits, with husbands sometimes denying permission for further studies. Additionally, lack of family support due to cultural traditions limits educational opportunities for females.

Gender inequality exacerbates the situation, as financial constraints further impede access to education. Furthermore, societal norms and economic issues restrict females from pursuing higher education, leading to a cascade of consequences including limited job prospects and perpetuation of low educational aspirations across generations.

Health and safety concerns, including increased vulnerability to domestic violence, further compound the challenges faced by women without access to higher education. Qualitative data collection methods, including interviews with females unable to access higher education and those who have overcome obstacles to do so, were employed in this research.

Questions focused on understanding the impact of gender inequality, family support, financial barriers, and early marriages on higher education access. Responses highlighted the pervasive influence of these factors in restricting female educational opportunities.

To address these challenges, public awareness campaigns emphasizing the importance of female education can empower women and communities. Additionally, establishing more educational institutions and scholarship programs tailored to female needs can facilitate access to higher education and promote female empowerment.

In conclusion, the study sheds light on the pressing educational emergencies faced by females in Nookabad. By identifying key challenges and proposing actionable solutions, it underscores the importance of prioritizing female higher education to foster social progress and empowerment in the region.
