My second journey to China since 2014 has once again brought me to Beijing, the capital city that continues to mesmerize me with its awe-inspiring architecture and meticulous urban planning. Beijing’s well-constructed roads, state-of-the-art infrastructure, flawless organization, and outstanding sanitation have left an indelible mark on me. These observations have ignited a strong desire within me to witness my hometown of Quetta achieve similar levels of development.

As I navigate the bustling streets of densely populated Beijing, it becomes increasingly evident that this city serves as a stellar model for many third-world cities to emulate. Its remarkable transformation and forward-thinking approach stand as a testament to the potential for growth and progress in urban areas worldwide.
During our official visit to China as part of a delegation of journalists, we received a warm welcome at the foreign office. Chinese officials extended their hospitality and highlighted the growing strength of bilateral relations between China and Pakistan. They emphasized the significance of the 10-year milestone achieved in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, symbolizing the deepening ties between the two nations. China’s unwavering commitment to Pakistan as its foremost strategic ally and neighbor was unmistakable, and our discussions during the visit reflected the mutual interests and cooperation that continue to shape this vital partnership.
Our visit to the office of Huawei, one of the world’s leading Hi-Tech companies, left a lasting impression of technological prowess and innovation. Stepping into their facilities felt like entering a realm where cutting-edge technology meets visionary ambition. The scale and scope of their operations were nothing short of astounding, showcasing their dedication to research and development across various sectors. Their commitment to sustainable and responsible practices was evident in their state-of-the-art research centers. Huawei’s relentless pursuit of excellence in the tech world was not only inspiring but also a testament to its global influence and commitment to shaping the future of connectivity and digital transformation.
In recent years, Beijing has undertaken significant initiatives to enhance its environmental sustainability, positioning itself as a model for sustainable urban living. Notable among these initiatives is the extensive deployment of electric buses throughout the city, reducing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions while simultaneously improving public transportation efficiency. Additionally, Beijing has focused on creating more green spaces within the urban landscape, including parks and gardens, which not only provide recreational opportunities but also mitigate the urban heat effect and improve air quality. These environmentally friendly efforts underscore Beijing’s dedication to creating a cleaner, more sustainable urban environment.
Visiting the Great Wall of China was an awe-inspiring experience. Although I had seen it before, this time I had the opportunity to truly appreciate and describe its magnificence. Stretching over 13,000 miles and constructed over centuries, the Great Wall stands as a testament to human ingenuity and determination. Its massive stone and earthen fortifications wind their way through rugged landscapes, offering breathtaking views of China’s picturesque countryside. The Great Wall of China is not merely a physical barrier; it is a symbol of China’s rich history and a source of national pride, making it an unforgettable sight to behold.
Our visit to Beijing Origin Water Technology Co. left a profound impression, showcasing their commitment to addressing pressing global water challenges. We witnessed the deployment of advanced water purification technologies that not only ensured safe drinking water but also highlighted their dedication to sustainable environmental practices. This experience emphasized the importance of public and private sector collaboration in finding effective solutions to our world’s growing water scarcity issues.
The Pakistan Embassy in China is dedicated to fostering and maintaining strong bilateral relations between the two nations. During our visit to the embassy, we were deeply impressed by the unwavering commitment of its officials to enhance cooperation and understanding between Pakistan and China. Their professionalism, dedication, and diplomatic efforts left an indelible mark on us, underscoring the importance they place on this crucial relationship. It is clear that the embassy serves as a vital bridge, working tirelessly to strengthen the bonds of friendship and collaboration between Pakistan and China.
During this visit, I gained a profound understanding of the value of exchange programs, whether they are focused on culture, education, or official visits by journalists, businessmen, and individuals from various sectors. These initiatives provide people with the chance to explore each other’s cultures and histories, fostering mutual learning and appreciation.
