The Sindh government has launched a new pink bus service exclusively for women. This initiative is aimed at providing safe and comfortable transportation for women in the city. The service is aimed at addressing the commuting problems faced by working women in the city. The bus service is set to launch on February 1, and its first route would be from Model Colony, Shahrah-e-Faisal to Tower.

The bus service will operate every 20 minutes during office hours in the morning and evening, and after every hour during normal hours. The government aims to provide a convenient and safe mode of transportation for women in the city.
However, there is one major issue with this new service – it does not have a route in the Lyari respectively in chakiwara or one the oldest market areas, Lee Market.
Lyari is one of the most densely populated areas in Karachi, and it is also known for being a stronghold of the People’s Party. Therefore, the absence of a route in this area is quite disappointing for the residents. Many working women and students in Lyari have to rely on public transportation, and the lack of a pink bus service in this area makes it difficult for them to travel safely and comfortably.
The People’s Bus Service in Karachi is a public transport service that operates in various parts of the city, connecting people to various destinations. The bus service is well-known for its reliability, affordability, and comfort, making it a popular mode of transportation for the people of Karachi.
The bus service operates on multiple routes, connecting different areas of the city such as Saddar, Shahrah-e-Faisal, North Nazimabad, and Clifton. It provides a comfortable and convenient way for people to travel within the city without having to worry about traffic congestion and parking issues.
However, it is to be noted that the People’s Bus Service does not cover most of the Lyari area, including Chakiwara and Lee Market and its adjoining areas. This is due to the security concerns that have plagued the area for many years, making it difficult for the bus service to operate in this part of the city.
The pink bus service and People’s bus service, is a great initiative and it is commendable that the People’s Party has taken steps to address the issue of women’s safety in transportation. However, the lack of a route in Lyari is a major oversight. This area is home to many working women who need safe and reliable transportation to get to and from their jobs.
The minister in charge of the project stated that the Pakistan People’s Party is working towards fulfilling its promises made to the people of Karachi. The minister also mentioned plans to start operations of the peoples’ bus service on routes 4, 5, 6 and 7 of Karachi in the near future, to provide more citizens access to modern public transport facilities.
This new women-only bus service is a positive step towards addressing the commuting issues faced by women in Karachi, and provides a safe and convenient mode of transportation. The Sindh government’s efforts towards improving public transportation in the city are commendable, and we hope to see the expansion of this service to more routes in the future.
The People’s Party should consider extending the pink bus service and people’s bus service to the Lyari area. This would not only provide a much-needed service to the men and women of Lyari, but it would also show that the party is truly committed to the welfare of all residents in the city.
In conclusion, the pink bus service for women and people’s bus services launched by the People’s Party in Karachi is a great initiative, but it needs to be extended to the Lyari area. The residents of Lyari, especially the working women, deserve safe and comfortable transportation just as much as anyone else in the city. The People’s Party should take immediate steps to rectify this oversight and provide a bus service in the Lyari area.
