Art is therapeutic. It not only heals but also has the ability to transport you to a world of tranquility. Art is a friend of humanity and has an affinity with peace.

The presence of art is visible all around us; it gives meaning to life, and a modest person observes people with joy and a serene mindset. Just as peace is found in art, so is love. Art is necessary in every walk of life and without it, life would be dull and lifeless. It provides solace to those who perceive it with appreciation. Art provides pleasure through its undeniable impact on one’s personality. Art is present in everything, from an infant’s cry to the storytelling facial expressions of the elderly. Art is the representation of one’s mind and heart and reflects everything that lies within.

Art has the ability to depict an individual’s thoughts without the direct use of words. An entire story can be portrayed simply through perception. There exist numerous artists who play with colors and illustrate extraordinary works of art. These creations have a language of their own and are capable of narrating the story of their creators.

As a literature student, I have always been drawn to art and love to immerse myself in it. Recently, the “Wall Painting Week” was organized by the Deputy Commissioner Kech, and I had the opportunity to be a part of it. This was not just a program but an initiative to recognize the value of art and artists in our society. It is often observed that artists are not provided with the recognition they truly deserve, leading to hopelessness among them. However, through this initiative, they were able to gain some appreciation for their efforts. This was undoubtedly a valuable step that motivated many individuals to come forward and show their talent in the field of art.

There were various artists from diverse backgrounds, each unique in their own way. Many types of art were painted during the weekly program, including modern art, sketching, landscape, still life, etc. Each art form contained an impressive message of its own. Throughout all the paintings, it was apparent that we do not lack talent, rather our talent is left behind due to the lack of focus. We need more steps like this to enhance the contributions of our artists and provide them with a respectful place in society.

In addition to the step taken by the DC, the undeniable contributions of Kech Culture Center and Museum towards the organization of this program should also be recognized. The Assistant Director of Kech Culture Center and Museum contributed significantly to the success of the program. It was a positive step for the promotion of art and culture, and such initiatives are needed in the future as well. Art is life itself, and the whole world revolves around it.
