Before one poses a perfunctory glance over the practices of the doctrines of US presidents, the term itself is supposed to be discussed very clearly. It is because no concept, there will be no understanding. The term doctrine got its prominence in the politics of the world during the 21 century. Moreover, it has been debated over time by international relations scholars.
Following these discussions, the scholars have come to the same page in defining the term.
According to the Mariam Webster dictionary, “A doctrine constitutes a set of ideas, principles, or beliefs, which is accepted as authoritative or true by a group of people.” This group of people is not considered from the countries that lied below in the political realms and performance. They are the countries that converse on the high position.
These countries may be the US, the UK, Russia and China. Furthermore, doctrines are, however, not static, nor do they necessarily lead to conflicts, but when they enter the realm of security politics they often appear uncompromising and hardened.
Similarly, in the realm of politics and real politick, the politics and interests are uncompromising. The US is going to play the same role with Biden on the top of the corridors of power. Joseph M. Siracusa and Aiden Warren in their book, “Presidential Doctrine” have argued that, “in spite of differences between successive administrations, in most instances, presidential doctrines have articulated both the responses and directions conducive to an international order that best advances
American interests: a composition encompassing “democracy,” open free markets, self-determining states that adhere to U.S. principles, and a secure global environment in which U.S. goals can be pursued (ideally) unimpeded.”
And no doubt, the above mentioned fact is going to be the yardstick used by the Biden administration. Not only this but also the defects brought by the Trump administration that led the country towards political and social catastrophe need to be coped with.
The US needs to put itself at the forefront to impede the coming catastrophe. Or else the wars and the ideological tenets will take the world towards a grave disaster. What the west has never focused on is “May best peace win”
