Since the beginning of monsoon season the rainfall has been causing flash flood and has wrecked havoc all across the Pakistan. Specially effecting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, some area’s of Sindh and most of all Balochistan. According to reports, Pakistan has received 60 percent of moon soon rainfall destroying homes, farms and being the cause of death for many people. Glacial lake outburst floods has destroyed many parts of Pakistan.

Balochistan being the largest province. The hub of Pakistan’s development due to its mineral enriched land has been effected the worst way. According to research, More than 10,000 households have been affected, of which 60% are in Balochistan. Total 800 school has been destroyed in Pakistan, among which 600 were from Balochistan. According to initial assessments in Balochistan, at least 150,000 people in Balochistan need humanitarian aid, while 30,000 individuals have been badly impacted and 400 families have been uprooted. 18 of of Balochistan’s 26 districts had been deemed disaster-hit areas by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority.

NDMA reports that most of the death were from Balochistan. And no one knows for sure till when it’ll keep ruining poor and be the cause of death, as the season is still going on. The flood has badly effected livestock. Further, Four people died when a house collapsed in the Sariab Mills area of the city. Two other fatalities, believed to be young children, died in flood waters near a major highway.

Not only that, the rain has been the reason of economy downfall as well for it has stopped the work, blocked the roads, and many of the mud houses has collapsed. The provincial city of Balochistan is in no better situation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Thursday that climate change was an “undeniable reality” of our time and posed serious consequences for developing countries like Pakistan. “Our ongoing floods and torrential rains need to be seen from that angle,” he said, promising that the government was aligning its development goals with climate change requirements.” The prime minister also decided to increase the monetary compensation for the injured from Rs50,000 to Rs200,000. In addition, he said that compensation for partially damaged houses should be increased from Rs25,000 to Rs250,000 and from Rs50,000 to Rs500,000 for fully damaged houses, the report added. Balochistan was the worst effected land in Pakistan due to flood. The PM has visited Quetta and released relief packages for Balochistan. However, let me remind everyone, in 2013 when Awaran was hit by a destructive earthquake and relief packages were announced.
