The book “Galileo Galilei” is written by Nandita Das who is from India. She published this book in 2003. The book is based on the real life of a great scientist named Galileo. He was from Italy when he was a boy, he was interested to study about nature. His father felt that his son shall be a big philosopher so he wanted to give him the best education as possible. He sent Galileo in a medical school.

During the course, he became interested in mathematics at his college and he took at seriously. He wanted to study further but his father could not afford the expenses. When he came back at Florence, so he started teaching of mathematics at Florence academy.

He invented a clock which was the first clock in the world. That time no one knew how to measure the time. After that he became a professor of mathematics. Further he discovered that earth is moving around the sun and sun is not moving.

The people became shocked to listen that they were not aware about it. Then the people knew that many things that we hold true today can be proved wrong tomorrow. We feel that sky is same every day but it is wrong.

Galileo discovered a telescope through it he looked the sky closely and he said that sky is not same always. Due to that telescope, he saw the far objects easily. After his discovers, he was famous in the world also his salary increased and he made his telescope better. And, the help of that he discovered that planets are revolving around his Jupiter. That was first time in history in the world he discovered the planets. A lot of people became the enemies of Galileo. People said that he was lying and his observations are wrong some said, He was putting magic in his telescope. His enemies arrested him but due to his old age, they did not send him to jail. Again he started his work but his daughter died due to a sudden illness.

Furthermore Galileo’s life destroyed, but still he did not leave his work and he wrote dialogue on the new science. After few months later he became blind and deaf at the age of seventy three. At last the end came Galileo died.

Galileo is called the founder of modern experimental sciences. In his life he got lots of troubles but he didn’t not surrender. Thus, he did several things for the development of the science.
