KHUZDAR: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, has said that the government is working under a coordinated, organized, and fair system for the welfare and prosperity of the people. He mentioned that the government has developed a plan under its vision to promote all sectors, which is being implemented gradually, and success is being achieved.

He expressed these views while addressing a jirga held in Khuzdar. The gathering was attended by public representatives, civilian and military officials, tribal elders, political and social figures, representatives from trade unions, and members of minority communities. The event saw significant participation. The jirga attendees included the Commander of the 12 Corps, Lieutenant General Rahat Hussain, Provincial Minister for Irrigation Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, Leader of the Opposition in the Balochistan Assembly Mir Younis Aziz Zehri, Chief of the Jhalawan Awami Panel Mir Shafiq ur Rehman Mengal, National Party leader and former Senator Abdul Kabeer Muhammad Shahi, Provincial Advisor Agha Umar Ahmadzai, and Inspector General of Balochistan Police Moazzam Jah Ansari, among others.

“Our government is committed to bringing reforms in all sectors, with the development of education and health being top priorities. Jobs will be provided based on merit and performance, and an effective accountability system has been established to ensure that public funds are spent genuinely on the welfare of the people,” the CM said in his address.

The Chief Minister of Balochistan emphasized that the people of Balochistan are patriotic and desire development, wishing to move forward with the government’s vision. He stated that a few saboteurs cannot change the public’s opinion or halt the development journey. He announced that a policy has been established to send youth abroad for education, with steps already initiated to benefit the future and prepare a generation equipped with higher education.

He remarked that Khuzdar and Jhalawan are political and tribal hubs where the leadership has served the province and contributed to the democratic process, which will continue in the same manner in the future.

He assured that the Balochistan government will not compromise on merit and standards and that everything will progress transparently.

The Chief Minister further stated that the government wishes to resolve issues through dialogue. The doors for negotiations are always open for those who want to talk within the framework of the Constitution of Pakistan.

“It is unfortunate that innocent laborers come to Balochistan to earn a living and are killed; the state stands with the oppressed. Those who challenge the authority of the state will be dealt with through constitutional means. It is up to the people of Balochistan whether they want to see their children holding pens or Kalashnikovs,” he said.

He acknowledged the challenges posed by terrorism, unrest, and climate change, stating that the provincial government is addressing these issues closely. The government aims to enhance education and has taken steps to reopen many schools that were closed, ensuring access to education for Baloch youth.

He emphasized the need to transfer authority to lower levels of government to resolve public issues effectively, thereby strengthening local government institutions.

Commander of the 12 Corps, Lieutenant General Rahat Hussain, emphasized that all expectations are pinned on Balochistan’s youth. He noted the current situation in Balochistan and the need for young people to focus on education, as it is essential for addressing future challenges. He mentioned that thousands of positions are available for Baloch youth in the Frontier Corps and the Pakistan Army, urging them to join the armed forces and serve the nation effectively.
