QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has said that the Fourth Schedule is a part of government laws, and anyone with objections should approach the appropriate forum.

He shared these views while speaking to the media outside the Balochistan Assembly on Thursday, following the session. He was accompanied by Provincial Minister Haji Ali Madad Jatak, Member of the Assembly Zark Khan Mandokhail, Government of Balochistan spokesperson Shahid Rind, and others.

Bugti remarked that Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s resignation from the National Assembly is a personal decision and that Mengal is the only one who can address it.

He emphasized that tension between the opposition and the government is a normal aspect of democracy. He assured that all of the opposition’s concerns were addressed during their recent meeting and that another meeting with the opposition had been scheduled.

In response to a question about potential changes in the cabinet, Bugti mentioned that there are currently no discussions on this matter. However, he said that changing a minister’s portfolio is acceptable as long as the right person is appointed to the right position. Leadership will make such decisions.

He commended Nawabzada Tariq Magsi for his valuable insights into the cabinet and affirmed that their experience is highly regarded. He also noted that all ministers are expected to be present in their offices, and any minister not fulfilling this duty should be reported for appropriate action.

Bugti highlighted the commencement of development projects in Quetta, including ongoing work in Satellite Town. He mentioned that tenders for city development projects are underway and that, despite resource constraints, work is progressing. The Maintenance Department of Communication and Works (C&W) has been activated to address issues in Quetta, Pishin, and other cities.
