QUETTA: Mehmood Khan Achakzai, the president of the Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan alliance, has proposed that the federal government release the founder of PTI on bail and bring him to the assembly, where electoral reforms would be carried out. He stressed that transparent elections should be held after three months and that the government should be handed over to the elected representatives.

He expressed these views during a gathering at Bacha Khan Chowk in Quetta, where participants from all parties in the alliance were present. Under the leadership of Mehmood Khan Achakzai, a rally was held from the Metropolitan Corporation Quetta. The participants of the procession marched through Mannan Chowk, Kandahari Bazaar, and other areas, with the rally culminating in a grand gathering at Bacha Khan Chowk.

Achakzai said that Pakistan has reached this state due to wrong policies. He added, “We want to create a Pakistan where people have freedom, the parliament has supremacy, and no institution is allowed to interfere. We will form a new Pakistan through popular power.”

He stressed that the resources on a nation’s land should first and foremost benefit that nation. Mehmood Khan Achakzai also said that they oppose terrorism in the country and will not allow the appropriation of their resources under the guise of operations.

Achakzai criticized those who want to impose a ban on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He pointed out that an elected Prime Minister was hanged, and now, years later, it is claimed that great injustices were done. The country was divided, but the nation was not informed about how it happened. He asserted that all politicians are complicit in weakening the country.

Mehmood Khan Achakzai declared that the rulers of the country were thieves who had sold the people’s assemblies. He believes they can be brought down through popular power.

“Wherever there is injustice in the world, we must stand by the oppressed,” he said.

Other leaders from different parties in the alliance also spoke at the event.

In addition to Quetta, protests and rallies have taken place in other districts of the province, including Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Chaman, Ziarat, Harnai, Sibi, Loralai, Qilla Saifullah, Zhob, Sherani, Nushki, Khuzdar, Jafarabad, Nasirabad, Kohlu, Barkhan, Hub, Osta Muhammad, Lasbela, Mastung, and Chagai, as well as in other provinces such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Punjab, and other cities across the country.
