Zero-tolerance policy for women harassment in province: Dr Rubaba

QUETTA: Provincial Advisor for the Women Development Department, Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi has said that harassment against women is a serious and punishable crime. Under the zero-tolerance policy of the provincial government, if any woman is harassed in any institution, a case of harassment will be filed under the Anti-Harassment Act.

It is our fundamental responsibility to provide women working in all government and private sectors with a harassment-free, safe, and conducive environment. Comprehensive measures will be taken to provide opportunities for economic empowerment and advancement in all areas of life for the women of Balochistan.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the exemplary performance of the provincial government can be felt. After handling the affairs of departmental responsibilities here on Wednesday, Secretary of Women Development Department WDD Sardar Khan Bugti and other officials expressed their views in an introductory session. Dr. Rubaba Khan Baloch said that the women of Balochistan are capable and comprehensive measures are necessary to provide them with opportunities for national and provincial level advancement.

Considering the regional situation in Baloch tribal societies, efforts will be made to provide better opportunities for women’s development. Women in the province face extraordinary challenges, and practical steps will be taken to effectively defend their rights. They said that actionable measures will be taken for the progress of women in Balochistan, which will bring ease and economic stability to their lives, enabling them to benefit from the practical fruits of progress in the province.
