QUETTA:-Re-polling on the orders of the election commission could not be held in four polling stations of the PB-9-Kohlu due to poor law and order as rockets and landmine explosions and firing in the Kohlu town, resulting in killing of a work of the PPP candidate and injured levies personnel, on Wednesday.

The provincial election commission has confirmed that the re-polling could not be held as the polling staff could not reach their place of duty due to law and order issue as landmines and rockets were exploded in the polling stations area.

The main contestants on the PB-9-Kohlu are Nawab Jangeez Marri of PML-N and Mir Nasibullah Marri of Pakistan Peoples’ party (PPP). In February8, election, Nasibullah Marri had won the election but later his victory was challenged by his opponents in the election commission pleading that ragging was committed in some polling stations.

The election commission after hearing had ordered re-polling in seven polling stations. In the re-polling in seven polling stations Nawab Jangeez Khan Marri was declared winner but his opponent candidate again approached the election with the complaint of rigging in the polling.
