QUETTA: President of Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society, Senator Lieutenant General (Retd.) Abdul Qayyum has said that Pakistan is a country of four units. Enemies want to break these units by creating hatred among the people.

We should engage in politics, not hostility towards each other. We need to improve our economy. The prosperity of Balochistan is the development and prosperity of Pakistan. Pakistan’s armed forces have always brought development to Balochistan. No one can overlook Pakistan due to the sacrifices of martyrs. It has become a trend to blame the army for votes. He said this during a press conference at the Quetta Press Club on Tuesday.

The President of the Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society, Abdul Qayyum, said, “I am fundamentally the President of the Ex-Servicemen Society, a group formed for the retired soldiers, to resolve the issues of martyrs’ families. This is a sacred mission we are working for the sake of Allah.”

The prosperity of Balochistan is the development and prosperity of Pakistan. CPEC is a game-changer. Pakistan’s armed forces have always brought development to Balochistan. Education and health have always been prioritized by the Pakistani army. Hospitals have been built in various areas including Khuzdar, Panjgur, Zhob, and Chaman.”

He said, “The new government should prioritize advancing CPEC because CPEC is the happiness, development, and success of Pakistan. Work should also begin on the gas pipeline with Iran. The most affected by terrorism are the people of Balochistan and KPK. We condemn the heinous aims of terrorists.”

“Pakistan is built on the foundation of various units, and we need to unite them. Anti-state elements’ nefarious aims will never succeed. Political differences are the beauty of democracy, personal biases should not be brought in. There are institutions present to resolve issues where justice is needed. For the betterment of the economy, agriculture, tourism, mining, IT, and other sectors need to be developed so that national stability is maintained.”

“Another major terrorism threat exists, for which a meeting of all parties was held, and a national action plan was made. Apex committee meetings were held in every province to end terrorism.”

He said, “Balochistan is a nation of patriots, and the country’s issues are our own. To solve them, every school of thought must play its role. We respect every ideology and every religion.”

“In 1968, my salary was just over five rupees, now it is 90 rupees per tola of gold. The government should take steps to combat inflation and unemployment. Institutions must be respected. Poisoning against institutions will not be tolerated. No one can overlook Pakistan due to the sacrifices of martyrs. If there is any rigging on any seat, it is condemnable. The Commission and courts should quickly decide.”

“It has become a trend to blame the army for votes. Anti-establishment individuals are mostly those who have escaped court martial here and are now speaking against institutions, which will not be successful. A lot of killing and looting has taken place in Quetta, people and lawyers have been martyred. All martial law should be declared illegal, which has put the country behind. Imran Khan should go to court and seek justice. Every leader should be respected. We should forget the past and everyone should play their role for the progress and prosperity of the country.”

“Families of missing persons should be with us. We should see where the missing persons are.”
