GWADAR: Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that work on relief in the rain-affected areas of Gwadar is underway and affected people will not be left alone until their complete rehabilitation.

Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, arrived in Gwadar on a one-day visit on Thursday, where he chaired a high-level meeting regarding law and order and development projects. The meeting was attended by Member National Assembly Malik Shah Gurgaij, Member Provincial Assembly Maulana Hidayat ur Rahman, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home Zahid Saleem, Inspector General of Police Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, Secretary Fisheries Imran Gichki, DIG PDMA Jehanzeb Khan, Commissioner Makran Division Saeed Ahmed Umrani, Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Orangzeb Badini, and other officials.

The meeting reviewed the overall situation of the security, as well as the progress of the Gwadar Safe City project. Additionally, a briefing was given by the authorities regarding measures related to drainage issues in Gwadar city.

While addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the CPEC projects are the guarantors of progress for Pakistan and Balochistan, emphasizing that the development of Gwadar is directly linked to the progress of Balochistan and Pakistan. He mentioned that both the federal and provincial governments are utilizing all available resources for the development of Gwadar. Security arrangements for Chinese experts and all workers involved in CPEC projects are being ensured, and according to the directives of the Ministry of Interior, stringent security measures are being taken. It was decided that the progress on CPEC projects will be reviewed every fifteen days.

The speed of work on the Gwadar Safe City project has been increased, said the Chief Minister. He also praised the role of the Pakistan Army and security forces in ensuring peace, stating that the restoration of peace is the top priority. He highlighted the efforts of the Pakistan Army, all security agencies, and the entire nation in combating terrorism over the past three decades and reiterated the commitment to thwart all conspiracies of terrorists and anti-state elements in the future.

Chief Minister Bugti mentioned that work on relief projects in the rain-affected areas of Gwadar is underway. He assured that the affected people will not be left alone until their complete rehabilitation. During his visit to the rain-affected families, relief cheques were also distributed.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that after taking the oath, his first visit was to Gwadar, and every effort is being made to reduce the difficulties of the affected people to the maximum extent possible. Immediate measures were taken for rescue operations on emergency foundations in Gwadar after the rains, including water drainage from residential areas and the restoration of life necessities.

To oversee the rescue operations, the Chief Secretary and DIG PDMA were personally present in Gwadar. Mir Sarfraz Bugti assured that all available resources are being utilized for the rehabilitation of the affected people, and they will not rest until their complete recovery.
