QUETTA: Balochistan government has sent two more patients of Congo Virus who were infected with the virus and were under treatment in Quetta through air-ambulance, on Wednesday.

With sending two more patients the numbers of under treatment victims of the Congo virus in a private hospital of Karachi reached to 13, which include nine doctors and five other health providers.

The condition of four infected doctors, including a female doctor was still critical. However, an official of the health department said, “Efforts were under way to save the lives of doctors and other health providers admitted in the hospital.”

The Balochistan Interim Chief Minister, Mir Ali Mardan Domki in a meeting reviewed the Congo Virus situation and measures taken by the authorities concerned to control the spreading of Congo Virus in Quetta.

The Chief Minister said that two more Congo Virus patients who were under treatment in Quetta were shifted to Karachi for specialist treatment through air-ambulance in view of their condition. “Interim government will not leave infected patients alone in this hard time,” he said, adding that all expenses of the treatment would bore by the provincial government.

“Health and other concerned departments were making all out efforts to control the situation created due to spreading Congo virus in the civil hospital,” Mr. Domki said, adding that the livestock department was ensuring spray in animal markets across the province.
