ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has entered Attock jail premises with an arrest warrant for the re-arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman in cipher case.

The arrest warrant, signed by Special Court Justice Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain under Official Secrets Act, reads that “the accused is hereby ordered for Judicial Remand in case FIR”. It asks the Suprintendent of District Jail Attock to keep him “Judicial Lockup” till his production before the court on August 30.

The FIA constituted a six-member team for arresting Imran Khan, upon his release from Attock jail, after Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended the decision of the sessions court against Chairman PTI in Toshakhana case.

Earlier, an Islamabad High Court bench comprising Chief Justice (CJ) Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri had suspended the decision of the sessions court Judge Dilawar against Chairman PTI in Toshakhana case.

PTI chief has been arrested following the court’s decision of sentencing him to a three-year jail sentence and a five-year disqualification from running for public office for PTI chairman.

Meanwhile, Attock Jail has been put on high alert.
