Balochistan Police to open two more police stations in Turbat

QUETTA: Balochistan police has decided to open two more women police stations in Turbat and port city of Gwadar and would directly recruit 280 female personnel to strengthen women police in the province.

The acting inspector general police, Balochistan, Salman Chaudhary disclosed this while speaking at a Press Conference along with DIG headquarters, Jawad Dogar and women police officer Zarghoona Manzoor, here on Monday.
He said that a modal woman police station was already working in the provincial capital Quetta which was playing its vital role in providing legal facilities to the women who were reluctant to visit male police stations to register their complaints freely.
“These 280 female personnel would include assistant sub-inspector and sub-inspector and constables who would be recruited directly,” Mr. Chaudhary said and added that in view of having tribal society women police stations are being established in Balochistan. He said that Gwadar and Turbat women police stations would be set up very soon for which the arrangements are in progress.
He said that all staff of the women police stations would be female and all female police personnel would be provided special training of dealing with the crimes and investigation.
Acting IG Police said that steps were also underway to provide protection and resolving the problems facing the minorities and transgender in the province. “A relief centre is suggested to be set up near the office of the Inspector General Police in this regard,” he said and added that police have taken action on 150 applications through women safety app. He said that to increase the capability of women police officers and other staff on modern lines training programmes were in progress unde4r UN and other concerned institutions.
He said that Balochistan police never take illegal and unconstitutional action against anyone. However, he said some elements through baseless propaganda wanted to defame the police force but all such efforts would be foiled.
Talking about police performance, he said that law enforcement agencies succeeded as the armed forces and police rendered great sacrifices for the restoring peace and order in the province. Replying to a question about missing persons, he said that it was an issue of the entire country and not only Balochistan. However, he said that police will not allow anyone to scare the citizens.
He said that police has taken action against the  elements involved in drug business and making the youth drug addicts.
