Pakistan Coast Guard foils smuggling bid in Uthal

QUETTA: The Pakistan Coast Guards on Monday have conducted separate operations against smugglers foiling bids,to smuggle hashish, Gutka, imported mobile phones, tablets, watches, Iranian oil and other items in uthal.

According to a press release issued by the Pakistan Coast Guard the value of the smuggled goods is said to be around Rs 161 million in the international market.

“Following a tip-off the Pakistan Coast Guard carried-out separate operations in Othal the Quetta-Karachi bordering district seizing marijuana, chhalia being smuggled from Vindar and Gwadar.” The Statement reads.

“The Pakistan Coast Guard’s area commander set up mobile patrols with soldiers and began monitoring suspicious locations over the past two weeks in order to prevent smuggling bids through the coastal belt of Balochistan.

Meanwhile in separate checking at Naka Kharri check post, a passenger was arrested after recovering 7 kg of marijuana from a female passenger on board the vehicle.

“Imported 190, mobile, tablet and 19 wrist watches have been seized from the accused.” The Pakistan Coast Guard statement said.

However during a routine patrolling near the city of Vindar, 03 persons were arrested with 887 kgs of ammunition, 01 9mm pistol, 01 magazine and 19 live founds.

The accused have been shifted to for further interrogation.

In another operation, a non-custom paid vehicle has been confiscated that was being smuggled to Karachi.
