The bid to smuggle illegal Chalia (Gutka) from Balochistan has been foiled as the customs Quetta confiscated 15000kg Chalia concealed in a truck beneath the onion sacks. “The Additional Collector and the Deputy Collector, as usual, ordered all the check posts, including Lak-Pas, to be ready for dynamic and more drastic actions against smugglers following which Saturday’s action has been carried-out.” Customs officials added.

“A Hino truck which was on its way from Quetta to Karachi was stopped and searched at Lak-Pas last night and 15000 kg Chalia recovered.” Customs official said added no arrest was made during the raid.
The price of the relevant chalia is more than Rs 30 million.
