Some 200 Balochistan police cadets have graduated from a training facility run by Pakistan Army in Quetta, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

Some 200 Balochistan police cadets have graduated from a training facility run by Pakistan Army in Quetta, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The passing out parade of the 10th batch of police cadets was held at the counter-terrorism complex in Quetta on Monday.

According to the military’s media wing, the training was part of a capability enhancement programme for law enforcement agencies, specially designed by Pakistan Army, to effectively combat terrorism in the country.

As much as 200 security forces’ personnel from Balochistan Police, Balochistan Constabulary and Levies went through a rigorous training programme under the direct supervision of instructors from the armed forces.

Speaking on the occasion, General Officer Commanding Major General Nadeem Zaki Manj emphasized the need of strict adherence to standard operating procedures and urged the graduated students to remain vigilant at all times while discharging their duties to the state.

Home Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, who was chief guest of the ceremony, thanked Pakistan Army for constant support with capacity building of the province’s security forces.

Prizes were also awarded to outstanding students. Constable Abdul Hadi of Balochistan Police was declared ‘Over-all best trainee’ and received the CM Balochistan Medal.

Constable Naqeebullah of Balochistan Constabulary received the IG Police Medal and Constable Asadullah received the DG Levies Medal.

Constable Obaidullah and Constable Abdul Sammad received medals for ‘Outstanding physical fitness’. Constable Ali Reza of Balochistan Police and Constable Bashir Ahmed displayed their skills in shooting, for which they received medals as well.

General Officer Commanding Major Abid Latif, IGP Balochistan Ahsan Mehboob and a large number of army and police officials attended the ceremony.
