He expressed these views while addressing the Asma Jahangir Conference in Lahore. At the conference, a session was held on the topic of negotiations with nationalist parties. Sardar Akhtar Mengal, addressing the session, said that it was already being heard before the general election that the BNP would hardly be given a seat.

He asked who to talk to? Movements for the restoration of the constitution, movements for the independence of the judiciary have taken place here, movements for the autonomy of the provinces and making the parliament independent have taken place here. Sardar Akhtar Mengal said that there have been movements for the freedom of the media. The problem of Balochistan is political. If anyone wants to solve the problem of Balochistan, it will be done by political hands and it will not be solved by the guns of the state, on political grounds, political people can do it together, not the establishment. The problem of Balochistan should not be solved by my uncle’s son or his uncle’s son, but those people who are powerless should be brought in just the power should be given to political people who can solve it.
